NTPC being a committed and responsible Corporate citizen always strives for the overall well being of its neighbourhood community and one of such initiative is healthcare on doorsteps through Mobile Medical Unit. NTPC has launched the services of Mobile Healthcare Unit along with facility for Maternal and Child Health Care (MCH) for surrounding 12 Project affected Panchayats covering about 69 villages on 3rd Aug 2022.

The project is designed with an aim is to provide General Medical OPD treatment along with antenatal/prenatal & postnatal preventive healthcare services to expectant & new mothers along with providing preventive primary healthcare services to new-born babies and infants, in order to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) ,Infant Mortality Rate (IMR).) and overall wellbeing of community.

NTPC has engaged M/S Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust, Noida, U.P, to render the said services through a mobile medical unit (MMU) and a team of doctors and paramedical staffs. The Mobile Medical Unit will monthly visit to designate 12 locations covering all villages and will be stationed there on designated days for providing medical consultations during the camp free medicines will be disbursed and basic blood and urine test shall also be performed on advice of doctors.

The MMU was formally flagged off by Shri Asit Dutta , Head of Project, Barh in presence of Shri Debasish Roy, GM (O&M), Shri Indrajit Basak, GM (EE), Shri Amitabha Bhaumik, GM (Operations), Shri Sukhamoy Roy,GM (Maint) , Dr. Ratan Kumar, CMO NTPC Barh, Sh. Daya Sharma , AGM (HR),Sh Ajay Kumar, DGM R&R, Dr. Anjula Agrawal, Sr. Manager R&R/CSR and other officials of Medical and R&R Department .

On the occasion, Shri Asit Dutta, HOP Barh Project praised and reiterated NTPC Barh’s commitment towards contributing to the cause of providing better accessible healthcare services in the project affected villages. The project was formally rolled out at Dheewar Panchayat in presence of residents and representatives of village.
